This isn't really a problem with AOE. It has to do with playing on-line with ZONE. Whenever I go into a room and play a game, (or make my own and play a game.) After it says "Setting up multiplayer connection" it just exits the game. (Same thing for AOE2, though AOE2 isn't that important to me for now xD Plz Help if you can. [Internet Connection: DSL.]

Well since you have DSL you must have a firewall. Firewalls dont let software in or out of the internet.

I dont know for him but for me when I try to access it for the first time, a popup thing will come from the taskbar and ask if it can go to the internet. From there you have to choose yes to get in and there is usually a password.

I dont think you have to disable the wall to play online... Though I am not sure how his program works.

You may have to, it depends on the firewall. For AoE I have successfully connected to the zone with Macafee and Zone Alarm Pro, but neither work with EE and have to be turned off, even if you tell them to fully allow EE. Just the way it is with some games and some firewalls.

You don't say what OS you have, if it is XP it puts on a firewall by default. It's a pretty good firewall but is less configurable than a third party one, so you may have to turn it off while you play.

This is a useful link for ports to open, for AoE, RoR and many other games.

EDIT: Or at least it would be if I included it

The program just exits while setting up? Or do you mean it freezes? I'm more familiar with the latter though, and as the others have pointed out, it's usually a firewall problem.
