When I bought AOE Gold Edition for about $60.00 I noticed when I pressed Shift and the right mouse button a white flag appeared where my mouse cursor was.
I don't know what it is for and my units seem to walk through it!
Can anyone help me?

It's normal. It's a more evolute "move" command. By placing multiple flags you can assign a "path" to your unit. Just hold the key pressed.
But as Andrea said, it's for paths - useful when going down winding paths, etc.

The flags are waypoints, and can be rather useful to use for exploring. You don't have to keep controlling your forwards. Did you read the readme or in-game manual? You should know what they are if you did.
Anyway, 60 dollars for AoE Gold?! I think you meant US dollars too, which is something like S$100! Congratulations, my friend, you've just been fooled by the retailer. I bought mine for a mere S$9.90 last December...

Hmm, maybe he bought it a few years ago...

Possible, but why does he ask only now? He probably would've found out the answer for himself if he got it years ago anyway.
In Australia you can get AoE free, with cereals or something. So then he'd really been had. Maybe there are still countries where they charge more for da game.

I understand that parts of South America are hideously expensive for stuff like games and computer bits. LP was telling me that 100 bucks for a game in Brazil is not uncommon.
Sixty New Zealand dollars/ And by the way, I only got this game about a month ago. I know it wasn't worth it (get Age Of Mythology!) but my computer wasn't up to spec.
Thanks for the Flags answer!

Personally, I don't understand why so many people like AoM. I played the Demo and didn't like it at all. I think AoE and AoK are better. Maybe you'd like to get the latter too.
