Hello, everyone. I am new to the forums and to Age of Empires. I have played AOK, and AOC though, but I hardly know anything about Age of Empires I. Can anyone tell me a good civ I could play with until I get good?

Yes, shang are good, on all maps, regardless, but on specific maps, other civs are better. As a newbie, I used assyrian most commonly on hills and other land maps. I used yamato on islands and other water-based maps.

I suggest that all of you chill out. The issue isn't worth it.

Assyria, because of their fast villagers. Yamato, for the same reason. Only Yams doesn't get chariot archers.

For some reason, when i was newbie, I also round roman to be pretty cruisy to handle (when i had RoR), because of their cheap buildings, the three house start really made up for my lack of micromanagement.

I only didn't pick Yams or Shangs when I started because I didn't see Shangs as a real civ (jistorically speaking), didn't know about Yams and Cho at all and mistakenly thought the games was somehow historically accurate (so I didn't want to see Sumie fight Cho, to mention only one historically impossible thing).
