If you open up your C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires\sound folder, you will see a long list of sounds found in AoE. You will also notice some files that range from MUSIC1 to MUSIC9 and xmusic1 to xmusic10. If you have time to listen to them, you'll find that some of the clips sound like the one found in the game but sound slightly different, and other clips may sound completely new. That's because these are the clips that were the gameplay music in the AoE demos and trials. Does anyone know how to import these demo clips so the full version of AoE will play the demo music?

Add "midimusic" to the command line text in the shortcut (without the quotation marks) to play the midi files instead of the music on the CD.

No. The program plays the music on the CD by default. If the CD is in the drive of course. For single player you never notic that because the CD has to be in the drive. But if it isn't and you start the program, you hear the midi files on the harddisk. They're a lot rougher, you can't mistake them.

Read the Readme.doc documentation on the CD - it's at the end.
