AI never seems to do anything with Palmies, a game I played on large islands 2 vs 2 hard setting was a good case in point. It seems they always lag when played by the comnp, but the AI totally dropped the ball with the Palms last night. Once I bronzed I made 3 cavs and I sent them over on a ship to scout out Palmyra island and kill some villies. It wasn't pretty. My ally hadn't killed anyone yet, but Palmyra island was sort of like Jonestown. There were 3 lions and no people. What seems to have happened was they used all their resources to make 2 villies, 2 huts, and 2 pits. Then all 5 villies got eaten by lions. I AM NOT MAKING THS UP
Has anyone seen anything like this before and does AI indeed do better with certain civs? Thanks

LOL. I haven't seen that but I have done something similar at least twice in multi-player and been in games many times where it happened to someone else.

Nomad start, no reveal. You take your one villager and start to scout around looking for a decent place to throw down your town center. Instead the first thing you come across is a pair of lions. Doh. Kitty chow.

Pay no attention to the ManBehindTheCurtain.

LoL, also, if a player has 3 villies, they are computer, and one is eaten by a lion they won't continue.

You have to remember Palmy starts with less villagers. if there are many lions near where they start they have a problem because they don't hunt in pairs. I had something lke that in a nomad start on islands. Nomad starts on islands are often terrible. I've had a few where four or five civs landed their single villager at the coast of their island and then decided to stay there till the end of time.
Sometimes in nomad start the single villager stops after killing a lion or alligator because wounded units should return home to base but if you don't have a TC yet what's home anyway?
