I'm pretty new to games - can get through the other campaigns but I cant get started on this one. I've checked AoEH walkthroughs and Gamespot's too but they dont help as I continue to get wiped out at the end -all the towers have such an effect as well as the armies. I cant destroy the farms, kill the enemy and stop them rebuilding the farms. Can anyone help as I'm sure if I could get past this one I could enjoy the rest of the campaign. And this is at the easiest setting! I've tried saving at times when I'm fully prepared but to no avail. I think I've tried about 50 times. I badly need help!

You also tried our hints? At easiest it shouldn't be that tough really but this is a scenario where you have to learn not to underestimate the opposition you get from the computer. You need more soldiers to do the job, that's the most important thing. And you need to realise what you have to do - you don't have to destroy their towers so don't waste your soldiers on that.

Actually I tried the walkthrough myself; at moderate I barely made it in over 40 minutes, at hard it's impossible for me or I should let it drag on forever.

Glory of Greece is stupidly easy on anything easier than normal. I did I'll Be Back on Normal without calling for help. A few of my cavalry and archers survived and then destroyed the temple without much trouble.

Don't post when you're under the influence of alcohol or drugs or anything else that we don't like over here.

edit:
Brian: I'll add something to the hints one of these days, they need expanding. For now: remember this one is a bit tougher than the ones in the Egypt campaign, you may need to get more experience with fighting and stuff first.

peter: You don't believe do you? I'm not high or anything.

Seriously, if you run your cavalry and archers into some open land, kill their men and head back to the temple, you will still have enough men to take out the temple and capture the artifact. The soldiers stop following you after a while.

They should have put a bit more VCs in that scenario.

(You still don't believe me do you?)

As far as I could see there are no open places there. It's fully towered.

Apart from that: I thought we were here to help people not to let them look the fool. Take a look at the Pharaoh Game Help forum to find people who really help.

Hey, I'm not trying to make him look a fool, just telling him GoG isn't too hard after the first scenario, which always seems to get people stuck.

It's like the build 3 towers scenario in the Egypt campaign, they forget to build guard towers not sentry towers.

I've recently started playing this game again and although I finished it many years back, I'm seriously frustrated at this particular scenario.

It seems whatever I do, the Dorians always cheat and generate more clubmen, then archers before I can upgrade my town centre.

I keep starting again, move my guys to the east, etc, and then I'm always playing catch up.

I've tried the walkthrough too.

I'll get there, but I don't remember having as many problems before

Destroy the enemy to the east, and build over their base. This is how I won at least.

Who was that Maud person anyway?

when are you upgrading? that matters a lot, I remember playing on hardest. Best part was when Brown was Bronze Age, just because I saved him from red, partly by accident, then i just wanted to see what he would do.
So, your job in this scenario is to destroy reds farms, I remember that. farms only have 60 HP, so a decent amount of bowmen or axemen will take it out. Get to the Tool Age, then make a tower to defend from reds army while you continue to build up

I remember reading many years back not to upgrade the town centre until I had sufficient food to generate more clubmen, ie don't advance until you're absolutely ready.

I have now managed to get a foothold in this scenario at last by moving my town centre slightly to the north east of the area where the yellow guys were.

The key to this scenario is the archers I think because once I had enough food to upgrade and build an archery range, they took out the Dorian clubmen from a distance and I've now managed to build up a decent army of clubmen and archers to move on the Dorian farms.

I always built my Town where I started. Yellow in the east, red in the West, brown in the North.

This mission is rather easy. You can wipe the strongest player: red with the starting army. Just build a town center next to their berries, avoid towers, and fight with all your clubmen and villagers against reds units. On hardest difficulty, yellow comes to help red, but with a little luck, you can avoid him long enough to train more soldiers. When you kill the red player, it is a breeze.
