I had a great game awhile back.. err 5 months or so =) It was a 3v3... I was Phoen, my pards were both Minoan... the enemy was Yamato/Sum/Minoan.

I had a nice Iron time.. around 18 min and had eles storming the Yamato early on... but my allys got rushed and ran to me... I held the enemy off till they got on thier feet- then we kept swaping landmasses- We'd charge across the shallows and attack one of them.. they'd counter attack and take our land.. Finaly- after 5 or so hours we had no wood left... neither did they... and CAs cost too much wood so we made Tris.. and had many large sea battles... overall we won.. the abundance of food on the ocean after we had won it allowed us to trade for gold.. and my War eles ran them over... at the 5 and a half hour mark. It was a gg.. woulda been different with AE's tho =))

5 and a half hours seems to be the limit, huh? I played a five player free for all with some friends a couple of months ago that wound up declared a draw between myself and my opponent (although, to be fair, he was stronger at the end but couldn't kill my towers anymore.)

He had massive defenses backed by catapaults, I had villagers all over 70% of the map for most of the game. Unfortunately, I wasted all my gold on killing the others (while he was doing the same) and wound up with only scythe chariots. My opponent had only chariot archers. However, we had to declare a draw when we emptied the entire map of all wood- even straggler trees were gone.

My longest game lasted 5 hours, and could have gone longer. My ally and an enemy ally were both forced to resign, that resulted in 4 hours of seige weapon combat that ended when i kill all of his villagers at the last gold deposit and took it all, the helopolis' swarmed his city and i took over, not before i had to resort to archers and axeman though.

My longest game was 3 hours. It was an RM but we all used random civs. We never destroyed each other while rushing and we went to iron. Then we attacked each other so much without destroying each other by the end of that game all the trees had been cut down and all the stone and gold mines had been mined out. By then we called it quits.

6+ Hours. Probably the most amazing 1v1 game I ever played! This was way back but still stays fresh in my mind. Countless dramatic battles. In the end I had one or two cats that I protected dearly and which won me the game. it was interesting being Axemen swarmed at the 6 hour mark though. Not a single resource left on the board.

9 hours!!

I was playing with meadow8 against 2 others on the largest AoE map (before RoR). At the end all we had left was this one tree that everyone kept trying to chop down but it wouldn't let us.

I think we got disconnected in the end, I forget. We were just so tired from staring at the screen, concentrating on the battle (it was pretty close all the way through) that I think we got past caring .

I played a 3 on 3 game a few weeks back where 2 of my team and one of their team dropped.

Around the five hour mark we stalemated. I was playing Sumerian; I had towers covering one hill with my catapults and also hiding behind a mass of (sadly, disconnected) Greek helepoli. There was no wood left on the map, no berries, no game, and only a little fish(I had guys sailing half-way round the world to get it).

My opponents(a Phoenician and a Macedonian) were sort of stuck. They couldn't mount any kind of attack against either my hill or my base (which was behind the hill and the tower/lazy helepolis area), since they had no seige units available. They had tons more food than I did, since I lost the battle for the last big forest to a billion armored elephants around the 3 hour mark.

So I was stuck, too. My armies consisted of about 10 heavy catapults - which I built with the stray trees of four different starting 'islands' on a narrows map after all the forests failed, 8 elephants, 2 or 3 priests, a few stray scythe chariots, and one badly damaged, very frightened, trireme.

Between them they had at least 30 armored elephants, 8 or 10 priests, several juggernauts, some stone throwers, quite a few horse archers, and some jihaded Phoenician villagers.

We agreed to live in peace thereafter, since there really wasn't anything left to quarrel over. It wasn't until later that I realized I could have won by converting the Greek helepoli...since it was a rated game, I guess I would have recieved an incomplete for it, but, still...
