Hello Everyone, I have made a strategy for Yamato, if Siege and Towers aren't allowed this strat is for you, this one guy named Alan said "I beaten a inter in 4 mins!"

Yamato Rush (Death Match)

If theres one thing I know it's Deathmatch. In this guide I will teach you a basic maneuver used in Age of Empires. This strategy I am teaching is commonly used in Age of Empires, but I thought I would type it out in my point of view ;-).

Yamato Rush (Heavy Horse Archers)

Yamato's Archer units are cheap, you can mass together more Heavy Horse Archers than the Hittie's, who have +1 attack for Archers, the more Yamato Heavy Horse Archers you have the better of a chance you have to win. When you first start the game start creating five more Town Centers and begin painting your area with Archery Ranges, the more you have the better. Start creating a Horse Archer and send it to the other guys town, hopefully he will have some blank buildings you can take down, the more of the blank buildings you take down the better for you, because even though they aren't built they still cost quite a bit of wood for each of them. While you have about twenty-five villagers from the six Town Centers you built start building a market and research Siege Craft, also when you get a Storage Pit and Goverment Center reasearch Archer Armor +2 at the Storage Pit and reasearch Balastics at the Goverment Center when you have done this go to a Archery Range and research Heavy Horse Archers. Please Note during a Death Match game try and mine all the gold on the map, because Yamato use alot of gold, but less than Hittie do, but Hittie also have Chariots so their pretty good, now if you come on a Choson player or Minoan Player it's very easy, you have the Yamato run alittle back and attack them, If it's a Minoan player and he has alot of Composite Bowmen, mass your Yamato next to them, this elimates their Fast fire rate and thus you kill off alot of Composite Bowmen.

Beware! If there are shallows be careful, Shallows are very good kill zones for Archers, if you are playing a Choson Player and walls are allowed wall up the Shallow and have your Heavy Horse Archers lined up around the wall, this will kill alot of Legions before they reach your wall.

My Worst Experience

The most worst experience I have had in Age of Empires is playing a guy named Crimson_War, he was Choson, my pard was Yamato and I was Minoan, Crimson_War's pard was Yamato. We were battling and my partner forgot to protect a shallow and ended up losing alot of land to Crimson_War, after I had him come to my land I walled it up and sent as many villagers as I could to mine as much gold as possible. I started to wipe out most of Yellows town right at the beginning, he was no match and he tried to build a wall around his town, but I cut had cut them down very fast, you see Minoan Composite Bowmen have the longest range and fire rate in the game, but they have little hp, so you see if they have a wall at the shallows they can cut any unit you want down, but I mostly use Yamato why? because they have the horses who are really fast, there archer attack isn't the supermacy to the game, but by how much they cost is, only 35 food and 50 gold, wow that is a good deal and whats even better is, if you trash talk your opponent, sometimes they get scared, I do it all the time, and sometimes you don't even know I am joking, I'll say sometimes, "you better watch I have 150 Heavy Horse Archers at your border" this scared many people and ends up sending little forces to attack which in ends up wiping them out, the point of the game is, if you mine all gold on the map and theres no more and you have mined the most chances are, you may win, however this isn't always true, this one guy I have played had mined 10,000 gold plus a 10,000 gold tribute from his parner with food, gold, wood and stone and so I had to work fast, I had gotten all the gold off my allys land, because he deleted all his units and buildings! I decided to make 35 farms and after I had collected 28,000 food I started to work on trees, for you see even though you may run out of gold theres always massed Bowmen.

Tactical Points

If your in trouble and are about to die look for points of attack, hills and shallows work well, you get a bonus attack on hills which would equal up to the attack of a Hittie Heavy Horse Archer. Shallows help, because not all of a players units can get through, if you have all your archers at that shallow you shall prevail, sometimes you win sometimes you don't.

More about me.

I been playing Age of Empires for five years, I developed a love for the game when we got our first computer, at the time I was tweleve years old and formed my very first clan that year, it was called Clan 187 and we had 15 members in it, but for reasons of Clan 187 being a gang in the real world, I closed it down about the time Age of Kings was made in 1999.In 2000, Kingkerry formed something called Kingkerry Knights Of the Round Table or Kkort for short.

Are you talking about no siege DM? Yam does rule there. But if you're talking about regular DM, Yam is the worst...by far...

Well RomanGladius, you are so wrong! I've seen it done before. Here's what happens:

2:00 HHAs rush thru your stables and building villies. They pick them off like CAs do in RMs.

2:30 Along come more HHA. Your towers are at the most guard towers. Your few eles are victims of hit and runs.

3:30 Phalanxs come along and then STs. You never even get a chance to build siege or eles that could overpower Yammy's forces.

5:00 If done right, you would be in the same state now as if a good Cho rush hit you.

Redo your math

The HHA upgrade takes 2 minutes and requires Chain mail so you can't have them at 2:00. Perhaps you meant HSa at 2:00? The Yams HAs are cheaper but that doesn't matter much until you're far into the game and begin to run out of your initial supplies. Till then you can get as many HAs as Yams - provided your civ gets them of course.

peter: OK I meant HAs. Also Yammy does win against Hittite because all DM players play each civ in nearly the same way. No one thinks about using HHAs for Hittite or Persia.

Okay, then why oh why do people want differences between civs at all? Making them all the same is far easier, isn't it? Balance threads are over then, so is pretty much everything else

Yammy sucks big time in reg DM. No matter how fast you accumulate HHAs, a good hit with cats or cho with towers can easily beat HHA rush. And as for no siege no tower wars, they are the most boring DM wars on the zone cause u only get to play archers. - no strategies whatsoever just archers and gold mining. I think that's really boring. I think everyone should play the game as it meant to be - without any restrictions. let me know if any of you guys wanna play reg DM during weekends. I'm aka "Intruder".

Roman, I thought you were from AoKH

Yammy don't suck at Reg DM, I have won just by using a combination of Siege and HHA against a Choson player as a matter of fact 2 Choson Players.

curious: Even a good Hittite can be destroyed by Yammy. How are you going to get enough cats after you are rushed by HHAs? HHAs run from towers damn quick and only rushing them with legions before they do will beat a good Yammy rush.

Hittite has even better HHAs, they only cost a bit more. Simply don't only get those Cats and Yammy is in big trouble I'd say.

peter: Yup, if Hittite tries HHAs, Yammy is dead. If Hittite try cats then Hittite is dead.

If i were a hittite, i won't go head to head against Yamato for archer rush. Yamato villagers are much faster than hits to build a sizable hha army, so it's not a resource issue, it's more a speed issue. (hittite archers being stronger than yammy archers would not play a key role in the early rush where number means everything)

So again, I think cats are the answer to yammy rush. Centurion guy says u won't have enough time to build cats, but i think you are wrong. If u are good enough to keep up with yammies on building archers, then u are more than good enough to produce enough cats and towers to stop the early rush.
By the time first HHA rushes, u will at least get to guard tower and reg cats (not the heavy ones) which will be more than enough to stop 20-30 hhas. (trust me i tried this against "2" so called yammy experts - they quit in less than 10 min) and Before the 2nd wave of hha comes, u will have full balista tower and heavy cats, so there's no way they can stop u now.
If u don't think hittite tower & seige can stop yamato in time, then why would all archer war have no tower no siege setting? That's only because a good hit can kick ass a good yammy in reg war 10 out of 10 times. Try me on DM zone, if you are still unsure.

I usually tell them to find like a man and use Archers instead of chicken S/h/i/t siege.

i assume this means u acknowledge that archers can not stop seige ( i thought this was rather obvious.. i wonder why many opposed me). And for being a chicken s/h/i/t, isn't archer a range unit just like seige? if u really wanna fight (not find) like a man, u should go infantry not archers who love hit and run.

I have beaten people who use Siege before it's called either use Cataphracts or have your Archers move around while attacking siege :P

u keep missing my point. Anybody can BEAT a poor hittite player (pehaps even a shang). But an expert hit would not allow u to dance around your seige or use cavs (BTW, cavs are hardly ever used in xpert DM) because I'll tower u to death before u can dance around my seige. Besides u can hit and run around a single cat but not when there are 10 or more cats. If u are so confident that yammy can beat hittite in all allowed setting, why don't u fight me? I'm by no means a hittite xpert (I'm a cho player) but I am very sure i can stop ur rush very easily. e-mail me at bethpage2002@hotmail.com if u really want to prove your point and fight me 1v1.

I would hope that you will take up curious offer of a head to head match. We hear the opinion of many "EXPERTS" around here. (Wedzas comes to mind) However, since you decided to post this strategy you really should have no objection to proving your skill in battle, right?

Nothing bugs me more than when so-called experts spout off about strats and then run and hide when asked for a demonstration.

It's time to put up or shut up IMHO.
