I am an experienced AoKer... from Day One, as a matter of fact. I also played AoE/RoR for about 4 months, including basics like the Egypt scenario set.
I am looking for fun ways to begin AoE/RoR with five people playing.
I will limit my questions to five.
1.) With what civ should I begin? Which one offers the most choices (i.e. Which one resembles Byzantines or Spanish in AoK)?
2.) I only like RM, not DM. Which civs are the most even to play in a group in an RM game? In other words, which ones do not have game-breaking attributes?
3.) The leap from Feudal to Castle in AoK is the most dynamic in the game, with more units and buildings becoming available than in any other point of the game. Where does this happen in AoE?
4.) Is the AI in AoE as bad as I've heard? Is it impossible to fill in the gap for even teams (with five players) with a PC player? What alternatives do I have?
5.) Which civ is the most fun for beginners to play?
6.) (I lied. I have one more important question.) Is naval combat fun?
Thanks, in advance, for your help.
