Well, if/is there was one civ, that you just can't stand to play? List it here, and explain abit if you wish

(some examples: of just what the techs are, they look bad, you've never really tryed them, they are too unbalanced...)

I'd defenatly say Assyrian, I don't like them becuase they have expensive units, but there are a lot of techs they don't have- which make up for it. I've also really never played them...

------------------------------------------------------------

As
Assy
Assyri
Assyrian
Assyrians d
Assyrians def
Assyrians defea
Assyrians defeate
Assyrians defeated E
Assyrians defeated Egy
Assyrians defeated Egypt

------------------------------------------------------------
Now, I want you to play them; in a campaign, DM, RM, MP anything, as I will. Post here if your thoughts about them changed

*The might of Carthage, victors from the Cedars of Lebanon to the Pillars of Hercules,
the great traders and the worlds greatest navy.
Prepare to be defeated!
*We are Macedonians, we don't convert that easily.

Yes - DM is a very different matter - Greek seems to rock there too. And Carth of course.

Ok, I can see where this misunderstanding came from. My fault.

Persia gets a super-sweet pit spot (wood+hunting) every game, which you can leverage that into a much earlier dockboom by using the 2 extra villies you don't need on food; by the time you're done with your initial huntign spot, your boats should provide all the food you need. Persia has average woodcutting until 2 mins into opponent's bronze. In other words, dockbooming with persia is just my way of staying ahead after there's no hunting.

This works on conti as well, the speed advantage may not be as great if opponents are shorefishing, but on the other hand you may not have to fight on the water as much and it's easier for you to rush on land.

~20 villies @ 6:00 - no villie delays and earlier dockboom remember? Persia is unique.

I'm not sure they can bronze in 11 w/toolrush either, but if shang can do it in 12, persia can do it in 11.

If he walls, rush his ally while you make STs or slingers. Within a minute or two not only does he have cavs on his villies, but STs/slingers on his docks/houses as well. If he walled from the edge of the map to the sea, use a transport to sneak into his land until your STs/slingers arrive - you have/need few units anyway.

True, their ranged units are missing some techs. I think their speed makes up for that in tool/bronze, and if the game somehow makes it to iron they can play the rock-paper-scissors game just fine.

Good allies for persia might be palmy which can fill in the missing late-game wood, and hittite which can supply top-notch ranged units and mid-age naval might. Persia provides the initial rush at every age. If in a 3v3, take both and have palmy feeding hittite at first, switching to feeding persia only around 14 mins.

That persia isn't totally useless because of their missing market techs. That if used correctly they can be a second-tier civ comparable to maybe assy, mace or egypt. And outlining what gave me some success with them, in the hopes that someone may find the next step(s). In other words, making my research with persia open source so other people can carry on the project for a while.
