Maybe it's cuz me CD is getting scratchy but no matter how come, sometimes I suddenly realize that the music has stopped in the middle of a game. Anyone else with the same?

I haven't had that happen yet, Peter. And it would really trouble me if that did happen, because I love the music that goes with the game.

I have once in a while, had a static kind of sound. And as I have indicated before, in my Trial RoR the music goes sour at the end of a game. Really sour. But not with the CD RoR.

Wonder if your CD is just worn out... ;-)

Can't say if my music stops or not. Mainly because I have had it turned off for over a year now.

The AoE music I like, but find I can only listen to it so many times. The RoR music just sucks. Nowadays if I want music while I play I just put a CD in drive 2.

Last night for the first time I experienced what Peter did. The music stopped. And I got a message in a box on my screen (error message I think) that said "Not enough hardware to support..." and I failed to write down what the rest of it said.

I was playing AoE and playing it using the Midi file shortcut that adds the original AoE music (like on the Trial version.)I had the CD of the Gold ed. in the drive, but it was not playing that music from the CD.

I can't understand why I wouldn't "have enough" hardware.
I have a Turtle Beach Montego 2 sound card.

Needless to say, I stopped the game when I got that message.

I am concerned, and if it happens again, I will call Dell's tech support. And I will write down the full message.

Found the solution
Very simple it is too. The music stops after the last track on the CD is finished and the comp then "forgets" to start all over again. Press the pause button (F3) to give the comp something to work on and soon you'll hear the music starting again. Then press F3 again to continue.
