As a newbie, I'm playing SP on RMs and in the Achievements section, I notice that I always have many more technologies than the Computer civs; sometimes I have more than twice their techs. Am I overdoing the upgrades or is the AI not a big fan of upgrades?
A second question, if I may: when designing scenarios, is there a guide to how many resources you should include, or is it just one of those "test and see" variables?

1. When playing RM against the computer it chooses for the CPs a random .ai based on the civ, so will only research what that particular .ai file tells it to. Since many are written to provide quick threaded research to the Iron Age a lot of technologies don't get researched, though if you play for extended periods you notice some units gaining armour, like that, or upgrade from ST to Catapult.

2. No - put in what you need to get the job done - whatever you do some miserable git will moan anyway ;-) Testing, however, is mandatory.

Thanks Phill. I don't feel like such a mad scientist now.
