In the heyday of RoR Shang was the civilization of choice for experts. But I very rarely see them in play any more. I think I see Minoan and Phoenician more than Shang. The most common civilization choices that I see are Assyrian, Hittite and Yamato. And of course, real newbies love Greek.

Any one care to offer an explanation for the Shang fall from grace? It seems to me that they still have the advantages they have always had. Why is it that so few players choose Shang?
As always, I play AoE. I really don't know very much about what is going on over in RoR. Is Shang still popular over there?
Oh, and ExpertWhoNeverPlays (you and everyone else know who you are), please do not respond with one of your lengthy fantasies about your ultra fast Bronze times with Shang in the days when you were able to play. I know what it was like then and that is not the perspective I seek. I am interested in what players who are currently active on the zone think about modern day use of Shang.
