Are clans a good way to play or are they a waste of time?

they are the best way to play...if you got the right clan...i joined a clan to have a good game with friends...no cheating or cursing....and you know the skill level of who your playing... or you could just cruise around in the chat rooms of the clan and chat it up all day. they are not a waste of time.

Clans are great if you are feeling "alone" on the zone. They bring a sort of 'socail life' to playing

Clans are great for "content teams" too, like for mapping and modpacks.

I've always had friends in multiple clans, and didn't want to alienate anyone, so to this day I am clanless and plan on staying that way.

After all, why would I want to limit myself to a small group of friends?

ive been a claner pretty much the whole time ive played on the zone. but a while back i started using my o0AcE0o name, and ive got a bunch of friends from different clans. but i still wanted to join a clan, until the other day i found the leader of the o0_0o clan. lol. i joined without needing to change my name

staying clannless and having a group of friends like you would in a clan is kind of hard.

wedsaz, even if that clan is only a design clan, not a playing one? (well, online anyway) You can still do design on your windows machines, can't you?

I've been in numerous clans, none of them had any real benifits. I just kinda dropped the whole concept and just play under my standard internet handle- RageOMatic.

Well, yes clans are good but my best friends on the zone are usually in a different clan or clanless. I hardly ever meet people that are in my clan. You don't nedd clans to have a great social time on the Zone.

having a clan limit your friends all depends on the clan.
if you join a known jerk clan, then you arnt going to get any friends, or if your clan acts like they're better then everyone thats not in a clan and so on...

one thing about having friends all from different clans, is most of the time, none of your friends know any other of your friends. thats whats great about clans, everyone knows everyone.

Didn't we at AoEH try to start up a clan? Why shouldn't we finish the job?

I say they suck, take for example the MnM clan, they so copied the colors. And Jaguar, they sooo big even though they lose. And whenever I see people trying to start a new clan they act like big jerks and really turns off lots people. But on the other hand clans can be good for example there used to be a clan for AoK call the ICW and we 12 leaders and over 300 sub-guys, but unfortunetly they just started not logging on anymore. Now it's dead but we had a massive sense of Power. In nearly every AoK room their was at least 5 ICW's. It was great being a leader of a clan.

That's my $0.02

When I play I like to play with friends. I think I'm in the majority. Whenever I get out of a game and I like getting ZM's to go directly to other friend's games. It is no fun looking for games and not knowing anybody out there.

If it takes being in a clan to expand your group of friends that have equal or similar skills/game preferences, I think it is a great idea. Ultimately though clans come and go on the Zone.

I remember just a couple months ago the ChAoS clan, Vow clan, Lethal clan, and many many others used to have several players. Now they are dead. That is the story with most clans.

Personally, I think they blow. Been in a couple and thought it was a waste of energy. I enjoy playing who I want when I want. I also enjoy not having any kind of clan job. Before I took some time off from the Zone I had a friends list longer than most clan registers. They weren't all friends, however I could get a game with any of them that happened to be on.

Just so I don't tweek anybodys pickle let me make this clear... I think the "idea" of clans sucks and resucks. I do not think "people" in clans suck or resuck. In fact most of my friends are members of clans. Out...

It depends on the credibility of your clan. If your clan is very infamous then it would be better to be on your own. But if your clan is respected then maybe it is a good idea.
