I meant those, yes. I always have to remember how many posts are in a thread when those folders onthe left should make it clear.

Okay, I did that, but I don't see the difference - all red folders don't help much and when I try again, they are all yellow again.

Wait a minute, now that folder is red. See your point.

It works now, but I had to try several things; most of all, I had to throw out a cookie=true piece.

Yes, that works. Now I see that my own posts are considered as new too. Seems logical to me as a programmer, as it's easier to program. But for a user, it doesn't seem logical at all. Couldn't you get around that?

Phil Phree:
I guess it's something like this: If anyone posts something in a thread, the counter will be increased and then perhaps compared with your cookie next time you visit the page (not sure what logging in is in this context). So anyone adding something will turn that folder red, even if it's yourself. Then you still got to remember the number of your last post. Now if the increased number is somehow sent to you before you leave if you added something, you could get around it, but it would involve some extra work and the motto for programming is - I'll post that at HonoredMule's.

Nothing wrong with your site (I hope). I meant I'd post that joke at your new thread with jokes and there you'll find it.
