Instead, I took track 14 off the disk and weedled it to 500k without any serious sound quality loss, but I had to import as a wav and compress within flash...which crashed my comp consistently. because of the way I am integrating the navbar, trying to satisfy all common resolutions, I don't have space below the bar to put a start/stop button that everyone can reach, so I wanted to put it in the flash file.
Instead I will have to embed it into the title bar. I will use my own graphics, so hopefully it won't stick out too much. At least I get to use the mid instead of that 500k mp3. As it is, people coming to my site will have a long wait to get the home page, but VERY fast access to all the content once inside, because the havbar (through submenus) will take you directly to almost every page, and you only have to dl the actual content.
BTW, the navbar is like this.
top corner has a block of marble with a window to view diff animations, and a block for corresponding script below.
two pillars stretch almost to the bottom (800 X 600, at 1024 X 768 you will also see a hit counter below and some other stuff nonessential). Pillar one has the main menu, and clicking on say, strats will sound off "abidacus," change the ror logo in the top box to an academy (roman, I try to stick with ror content) and change the scrolling "welcome to ror complete" to "Strategies." The second pillar will begin turning around, and the submenu will *seem* to come from the other side of the pillar. Btw, all the graphics I did appear "3d" and a lot is animated.
Then clicking on persia will change the academy to a walking AE facing bottom right, and "Strategies" to "Persian Strategies." Finally, you will actually load a page, which will have links to all strategies for persia. I will only have 5 strats per civ, but each one gets it's own page, and submitters can include pictures, links, and even corresponding files (which u can also find in the dlls section) to his heart's content! So, ah, I'll get back to it...
