I propose that we play!
Here's a (loose) proposal for setting up the games (I will take into account any comments or suggestions raised here in this thread and modify accordingly):
* a 1v1 tourney for the experts (maybe with an inter volunteer, a 2v2 also)
* 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 tournies for the inters
* 1v1, 2v2 tournies for the rookies
In each tournament, there would be a round robin after which advancement would be determined by win points. Tied standings could be broken by game points taken from the achievements (this one up for discussion).
For each level category, there will be default game settings which should be used if the involved players cannot come to a consensus. So the players will have a chance to decide amongst themselves, what kind of game they want to play.
A win gives the winning team 3 points. Losing teams get one point for showing up.
Teams are registered before the tourneys start. Player substitutions are allowed but at least one member of the original team must play in each game.
The schedule will allow for up to 1-2 weeks (this number to be determined) for a game's players to play the game. If the alloted time expires and the scheduled game has not been played then both teams forfeit all points. The involved teams will then be assigned the next game to be played in the schedule.
After each game, the host must report the win/loss result to HGL and also the individual score of each player taken from the achievements screen. Maybe a screen shot will also be required (this to be determined). These individual scores will be maintained and used to note individual standings. This way, if you happen to be on a losing team but have played well, the ratio of your score over that of your team will be noted and we might have an individual scoring ratio title contest as well.
Note that it is in the best interest of all players that these scores be compiled because they may be used as tie breakers for tournament advancement.
We will need some sort of committee to handle any unforseen issues, disputes, etc... All decisions made by this committee will be final.
Comments? Questions?
Please let me know. I will try to amend this proposal to suit everyone involved and the sooner we do this, the sooner I can come up with some sort of a schedule and then we can play!
