I wonder if i still got my persian pic on my other computer. It was mediteranian, default everything else. It was 2vs2 and one ally dropped. I had about 70 persian armored eles, owned the sea, and had a decent economy..If you give me your email adress, ill see if i can find the pic

Wild1234:
Yes, sadly, the yamato cav rush is not very effective in RoR due to the mean, ugly camels.
Likewise, HHA fall to the hordes of scythes.
If you think this should not be so, please do contribute to the RoR balance thread.

Yes, it still works provided your opponents aren't ready for it.
If they can wall in and delay you long enough to get a few camels, you're in a bit of trouble.
You can probably do just as well or better with persia or assyria, which have the option of switching to camels later, and have better bronze archers. They also have a stronger iron than yammy.

Which civ is the best to be depends a lot on playing style, as I said earlier.
I just ranked them by power based on what is popular nowadays in RM. (both doing those strats and countering them)
I'm a big palmy, phoenie, mace and bab player myself.
Choson has good enough towers to have a chance of getting to their amazing longswords.
Yamato has been dealt a big blow by camels, though. Once the camels come out, they lose power in a major way. It's sad, but true. Notice, however, that I put them in level 1 for tool age. That's because they can fight effectively on the sea, while doing a lovely scout rush on land. They may be good for a team game, perhaps with palmy.
Mace, as I said, works well enough with bab that they can be level 1 overall if they team up. Bab makes the walls, tool defenses, heavy catapults and priests, mace makes the main offensive army.
