Well I know that virtually no game is safe from the trainer, but cheating can be stopped. It (cheating) should be banned on multi and be only allowed on IP games. That way there would be no cheatings or accusitions of someone doing so.

Well, as AoK goes on there will someday be a trainer for it, but are you willing to go through it again? Also, the time its taking for MS or ES (or ill need an EMS) to make this patch is unbelievably long. Are they going to wait like in AoE and RoR the same amout of time (which is when the player # falls dramatically) to make a patch? The game will die once you see those cobras coming into your town, just like AoE n' RoR.

So I am suggesting that all cheating be banned from the zone in some fashion or way...exept for IP. Does anyone agree with this idea?

BTW, tell me if this post makes sense, sorry i am half awake, just got home from school.

I just don't see how you can ban cheating from the zone? The only way is to play games with your friends. It's impossible to ban cheating. There will always be someone trying to cheat in order to win and there is no way to stop that. Thats just a fact of life.

The problem with banning cheaters in AoE/RoR was there could never be solid proof. Sure, you could take a screen shot of a big daddy but you couldn't prove it wasn't a doctored image. Enter Aok with recorded game feature. Maybe someday, someone will make a trainer for AoK but they will never figure out how to modify a recorded game file to show cheating where there is none. If cheating shows up in the recording - you can be sure. This should lead to some people getting banned. Yea, they can just get a new zone name.
Also, microsoft is much more sensitive to bugs/cheats in AoK. Why? When AoE/RoR were new they didn't have to worry much about the competition. It was the best RTS game out there, no contest. But now, there are many new RTS/RPG games that are getting high marks from gamers. You only have to look at the way microsoft handled competitors in the desktop apps, web browser and network O/S markets. Yes, competition will do what no amount of customers complaining could ever do - get microsoft to bring out patches and fixes regularly.

Thinker42, the reason other agers are now looking at other RTS/RPG games is because microsoft failed to patch up AoE/RoR in time. They gave up on AoE/RoR and probably AoK as well.

Ahh....Don't you just love these discussions? Might I add that everyone failed to mention what ES always mentions, AOK is in many languages, and if they were to release a patch in only a select few languages, that would be...Bad.

I don't know if they work but I have heard of several sites offering trainers for AOK. The reason I don't believe they work is that they arrived as soon as the game did. Never know. Let's hope not.

No, trainers for AoK don't work... They work for the first 5 mins and then the game gets a sync error and everyone drops. AoK is trainer proof... at least for now.
