PROBLEMS:
1. When playing 1v1 games and your opponent disconnects(intentionally or unintentionally), you are penalized with an incomplete game.
2. When in a 2v2 or 3v3 and someone drops, you have no choice but to play it out despite the unevenness of the teams. This is true even if they drop in the first min. of play.
3. This has led to a NEW CHEAT METHOD. In 2 games recently, the host has booted someone on the opposing team and immediately launched the game. Once I was booted and I thought the host had canceled the game but what happened was my partner got stuck in a 2v1. On another game, one of our 3 man team was booted and the game started as a 2v3. The only choice is to take an incomplete or play it out.
4. The incomplete game penalty is VERY severe. A friend of mine lost 136 points after getting his 5th incomplete. No, he wasn't intentionally disconnecting, but he did have some isp problems
SOLUTIONS:
1. FIX THE 1v1 DROP PROBLEM! If I remain connected to the zone, even though my opponent drops, I should NOT be penalized with an incomplete game. It's bad enough not getting the points for a win!
2. Make it impossible for the game host to boot people after they are in the game (2nd) room. The host ALREADY HAS TOO MUCH POWER.
3. Give us a way out when someone drops early in a game. I would suggest we could still ally and end the game, BUT reward no points for the game. Most players are honorable and feel badly when the teams become lopsided because of an untimely drop.
4. Another option would be to allow leaving a game before a certain time(1-5 mins.) WITHOUT inccuring an incomplete game. That way if your partner got booted or failed to make it into the game, the game could be ended without penalty.
5.I like heavy penalties for lamers, BUT, the incomplete game penalty is SEVERE and is penalizing a lot of good and honest players.
In conclusion, MS, DO SOMETHING!!!!!!! 4 of my last 5 games, I had a drop on my team. Once, I took an incomplete, twice I lost(both times we should have won, IMO), and one time I beat 2 guys by myself. RoR seems to me to be less stable than AoE and drops are a REAL issue.
