Hi everyone, new guy. When I first started playing AoE I wanted to play the greeks. I moved on to Minoa and tried to play water maps, but everyone was playing inland. I finally had some success with Summer so I stuck with them for a while. Finally I had to go Assyrian like everyone else. Or Yamato.
But now this is RoR and apparently Shang rules. I have been practicing with the Minoans again since lots of people like Med, and I've been fairly successful even against Shang, but not in the hands of a decent player.
What I'm wondering is this; most of you seem to not be too interested in the rated rooms and so Shang does not seem to be a preocupation here. Most of you seem to be more interested in being good all around, in all maps, with all civs.
I like that idea, but I think some of the time I would like to go meassure myself in the rated rooms. Do I have the right take on this, or is Shang really not a big deal even in rated rooms at a certain level? I ask because I really don't want to play them, but of course I'd like to win once in a while, hehehe.
Too bad the rated rooms aren't all random map, random civ...
