blue_myriddn, I am sorry you still haven't been able to make this work. I suggested you try the serial connection but I noticed on GX that you said it still gave the "must be connected" message. I am wondering what o/s, win95a, win95b, win98, win98se, etc. you are using. I also wonder what network adapters and protocols show up in your network properties (right click network neighborhood and pick properties or Start-Settings-Control Panel-Network. Depending on your current system you might need to delete all network entries in properties and reinstall them. When I select serial connection it brings up a box with default com1 settings and I just click ok. One time I tried to change the default baud rate and clicked ok then it gave me the same message about being connected. Lots of people are able to do this easily so it has to be something messed up in your computer. Please post back any info about your computer and I will try to help figure it out.

This is what I do. Open up rise of rome and go to the main screen.
Click Multiplayer
Enter Your Name
Click Internet TCP/IP Connection for Direct Play Select Ok
Click create game and type whatever u want
Now it brings u to a multiplayer screen where u can play agianst the computer and change the pop limit. I don't have to be connected to do this so it might work for you. Good Luck

Limit=xxx is suppose to work for single player, i'm talking about adding it to the COMMAND LINE in the shortcut, not to the registry. At least according to the readme file.

SoulArcher, we know. But that only affects multiplayer only. And in ROR you can just change it via a drop down menu, so whats the use?
