Replying to Zen's comments in post #18:
Congrats, Zen! You've just contradicted yourself. If I understand this correctly, you fired Sera for "immature behavior" he showed AFTER he'd been fired. That doesn't make any sense!
Generally speaking now:
And while we're at it, most of you Angels haven't made an appearance here at AoEH forums for months, you haven't made ANY efforts to stop the decline of these forums and now all of a sudden you all come out of the woodwork and defend your imo ridiculous decision to fire Zul and Sera. Over the past few months I didn't have the impression the Angels cared about these forums any more, why should you, anyways, the game is getting old, people are waiting for AoK! So much for your presumed professionalism.
Conclusion: you hired THREE news cherubs for a game that's almost two years old. Not a very intelligent decision imnsho in the first place. A few weeks later you fire one of them (Zul) for "being immature", and the second one (Sera) b/c of a TEXTLESS post just b/c the topic MIGHT lead to fighting. C'mon, gimme a break, if you hated threads that can lead to flame wars so much, you should've banned Hydarnes and other forumers way back.
We have to accept your decision about firing Zul and Sera, but the uproar here should at least serve to show you that your angelic opinion isn't that widely shared by the forumer community.
As to immaturity: it never was and never will be a question of age only. I know "kids" that are pretty mature and I know people my age (I'm 36 btw) that don't meet my criteria for being mature (nor will they ever do). As far as I know him, Sera is a mature "youngster" and I believe he did a good job and you fired him unjustifiedly. Zul might've bugged some people w/ his Cherub status, but I believe this was only excitement from his part. If you found this annoying or not to be according to HGS policies, you could've told him and asked him to stop it. Oddly enough, Zul behaves quite nicely around me - possibly b/c I treat him as a human being. I believe both Sera and Zul cared about AoEH and they showed a lot more of enthusiasm than I've seen from most of the Angels for months.
You are right in as so much that you can expect a certain degree of maturity from your Cherubs regardless of age, but after all, imho the elder angels should take the age factor into account when dealing w/ fits of presumed immaturity from the "kids". Show me a kid that's always mature and I show you a severe case of depression. Instead of making them learn the hard way, you could've guided them if necessary, in my experience the "kids" do listen to you if you try to talk some sense into them in a friendly way. IF they don't listen then, you have every right to make them learn the hard way.
Now go ahead and ban me for my possibly inappropriate, immature post! I don't care much any more anyway. Like Knight_Day, I've almost left these forums being annoyed by your "policy" of not doing anything against their decline.
Since this may be my last post here, I want to add that I've made quite a number of great friends all around the world thanks to AoEH forums. It once was a great place to come to, it isn't any more.
Yeah, those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end, we'd sing and dance forever and a day...
Greetings, fellow warriors!
