Sorry, all, I was awfully ticked off last night. I laid awake till around 4:00 fuming about being forced to use my computer to debug others' programming skills. I've got my pet theories on why our society is more accepting of buggy programs than they should be, but thats for another thread. I finally decided to just go with the flow. From now on, I will use IE5 to view the Forum, and either Opera or Netscape for my general browsing.
The crash was not really that significant, since I back up at least twice a week, but just an irritation. After all, I only "lost" a Saturday's "work". And I wouldn't have had the problem at all if I had opened it with Netscape 4.5 rather than 4.05, as the newer version ignores proprietary IE garbage much better, with only a small hit to performance.
Chubby, I doubt its the thumbnails. That's a common technique, widely used on the Internet, and AoEH is the ONLY site I have run into that can consistently make Netscape 4.05 crash.
FWIW, I doubt its just one thing making it happen, but a bunch of slightly different programming styles, probably some improper handling of extension scripts. As a matter of fact, the log makes it appear that ugo.net may have contributed to this one.
Keep your stick on the ice.
