you wanna know why there is no dm experts in ror? well the answer is.... whoever plays dm always and never rm is NOT an expert......dm is just a contest of who can place their buildings 1st with thousands of resources given then pump out millions of hittite cats and armored eles......there is a very very very good chance that someone who plays lotsa dm and is hittite will win..... but noobody is "good" by playing dm....yo guy try playing rm that will judge if you are an expert......cuz i know a few ppl who only play dm and they say they suck big time in rm! so play a game of rm where u have to build up from the start....and well talk who is an expert

well blackheart i guess ur telling me u cant play dm and because u sux at it u try to belittle it. sorry but i never found rm interesting. that y i stated that there r few dm experts in ror excluding rm becuase i dont play it. but i could have taking your approach and said all rm players sux and cant play dm so they play rm where they only have a couple units to manage. RM players cant handle the intense military stradegy of DM and the speed u must make decisions. kNow blackheart do u get my point, just because u have no clue about dm play doesnt mean u should belittle.

All he's saying is that very, very, very few ppl who play just DM become experts at it. The best DM players play BOTH well.

DM helps RM for maintaining large armies and micro-managing at the same time in a pitched Iron battle.

RM helps DM for general economy status.

Other Dm experts have commented on the lack of competition.

Frankly it exists in both Rm and Dm. The level of playing has not achieved that which was achieved in AoE.

I do not know if this is due to the prevalence of cheating in AoE, or just a much longer period of time in which people can hone their skills.

To find competive games in RoR is rather difficult without concending to play someone elses little pet setting.

Anyway, on to dm, the original responder is fairly clueless of the level of skill required to master Dm. The skill required is different then that required to master Rm, but it exists none the less.

To prove the point, I would note that top level dm players have better win streaks then do top level Rm Players, odviously it cant be due to chance, as it would be more random if so.

Anyway, I am fairly good at dm, good enough to have a decent perspective on the game. I wouldnt be so foolish as to call myself an expert dm'r, but I am close. Anyway, if you want expert dm games, you need to find players who are experts, and play them, pay attention to who is good, and who is not.

There are several expert dm'rs out there, you just need to find them.

SW_EmperorsHand what u say may be true in ror but definitely not the case for aoe. i dont know of any true expert aoe dm player that plays rm at least not anymore. maybe thats why the dm skill level of ror is lower. ppl play both and dont acheive their best ability in one but r good at both.

maybe ror expert dms play in ranked ?

one thing i will say is i was very hessitant to buy ror being that i have a high aoe dm skill level i figured i would have to start from the beginning again. but it was not the case. it was quite easy to pick up. i think alot of aoe dm expert shyed away from ror because of that.

hopefully we will play a game staffa

Recently I've been learning DM, mostly because it's an easy way to get a quick game against newbies.... Most of the people in the DM rooms are just that.. newbies... Every once in a while (maybe one in 15 games) you find someone who's good... or at least by my estimation is good. I've not played enough DM to know the difference between an expert and merely high level intermediate... Although I'm not a newbie, I'm still not that great... And yet I still find myself winning 90% of the games in the DM rooms... The other 10% I get mauled by someone better than me (or just faster and more experienced) My personal recommendation is to search out people who seem to be in clans as the level of play from them tends to be higher (although there are lamers of course...) Find a clan that seems to be good and follow them around and play with them or whatnot... Or bring some of the AoE DM Experts to play DM in the RoR rooms... The level of competition there is for the most part pitiful and a few more experts would be a welcome change... (I've seen games where I could probably have beaten the opponent with an RM start... yeesh newbies)

Newb, if you want a good game in ROR DM, come find me. I'm usually on the zone at some point during the night. Although I've been spending more time in the Mechwarrior 3 rooms lately, but I'm always game for a good, expert DM.
