As I am getting a little tired of playing minoa, phoe, and hittite, I am looking for a new civ to play. Palmyran is defeintely considered by more to be one fo the worst RM civs out thier, but I actually want to play a bit with them and see if I can win some games with palmy. Of course, I would like to read some palmyran strategie guides, but I cannot find any. Does anyone know where I could find some palmran strategy guides?

Here is a pretty good Palmy strat guide. I like your choice on what 'New' civ to start playing. Palmy is quite a fun and challenging civ to play!!

I would mention that Pooba's strat takes teamwork to make it work. This is almost impossible to come by, as near as I can tell, unless you are playing as a set team. Otherwise, it almost always changes into 3 1v1s, and you will get your tail kicked if your partner receiving trib isn't keeping the heat off you. It is a valuable thing to learn on the off chance that you run into someone who can actually play as a team.

I would also recommend you check out Elijeh's Palmyran Power thread, basically a strat that has you take Palmy on a heavy offense in early Bronze. It also has a lot of good commentary from some name-brands, as well as some of my everpresent drivel.

play random civs. it makes u play different civs
and adapt to them. u become more
flexible and hopefully will learn first hand
the weaknesses and strengths of each civ.

the only thing i can say about palmies is
always go berries first. put 5 if ur berries r nice.
otherwise 6. also, ALWAYS dock with palmies.
unless of course its hills and palmy is death on hills
IMO. ull see that they gather alot of res
pretty fast. ironically, i feel like
they gather faster than the 30% faster assy or yam peons.
but i guess thats just imagination

Not your imagination at all, Winger. They get almost equivalent to the best of collection civs -- Phoe's woodchopping (almost), Persia's hunting (almost), Egypt's goldmining, Babs' stone mining and, uh, Palmy's berries and shorefishing. All for only a 50% premium. (BTW, if I could trade, I'd swap Palmy's peon armor for Mace's peon vision anyday. It would make Palmy almost even up, costwise.) Yam & assy's benefit (faster walking) comes into play if you make the rookie mistake of not keeping up on your storage pits. That't probably why you rank collection rate higher than walking speed -- you don't make rookie mistakes...

Keep your stick on the ice.
