Please don't post any messages here except tourney results. Oh, and the occassional message sending this thread to the top. Thank you.

Um, apology accepted. Now, sarcasm aside, what were you apologizing to ME for?

Methinks a synapse misfired along the way somewheres....

I'm guessing a few of the teams have dropped out, right? Hey as long as this includes some of the Aloha teams maybe we'll have a chance now right?

Hey all, the first round deadline is fast approaching; 6/3 for most, 6/4 for the one match that Scarab ok'd to be played late.

Don't forget to post your results here so Jake & I can update our tourney charts.

Congrats to the GX alliance....they kicked our tails.

Stooge_aholic and I logged on but our ally, Stooge_bangdoll was a no-show. We had discussed before the GX guys showed that if Bangdoll didn't show we would forfeit, pick another ally and play the game for the fun of it.

We found another Stooge (OldMoonGod) and launched. The mapp gods smiled on me and gave me the pocket a sweet starting spot. But alas, lag killed the game as CLAI44 dropped and we agreed to start over. OldMoonGod left so we picked up Kennedy as an ally.

The map gods didn't smile on me the second time as I got a spot that looked more like highland. I searched all over (almost) and couldn't find second berries, pittable shore fish, and only two dumbos, so I had to hunt scattered gazelle to get enough food to bronze. Only one problem with that....I never got to bronze. CLAI crossed the shallows joining us and built a barracks and range. My bad food situation meant I was screwed, since I had passed up any opportunity to tool rush. My second berries turned up on the far side of my land-mass by CLAI's range .

In the mean-time, Aholic lost three vills to lions very early and had a hard time recovering. CLAI showed up at my TC with Compies as I was about to bronze. I saved the food, ran to aholic's area and tributed as I ran into more enemy compies.

Sorry for whining. I didn't adapt well to a bad spot, and although I scouted a lot I missed some berries buried up in trees that would have at least helped. That the worst I have played in a while and good opponants like these guys will make you pay when you suck.

Good game GX, and congratulations.

Ok Scarab, it looks like the deadline for the first round has passed. Should we just advance the teams who played and disqualify the teams that didn't, or are we giving up on the whole thing, or what?

Also, if anyone has finished their first round match, please post it here!

Thanks,

Well if you decide you need more team for the next round, the Old Goobers would gladly substitute in for one of the forfeiting teams. We lost our match 2-1, but at least we showed up.

Well, 3 games where played, 2 last night. Game 1 was
myself, Scrith and Orangepanther against Borgboy, Al Kharn,
and Fangr substituting for Matty. Scrith got dropped 15
minutes into the game but we where able to prevail.

Game 2 was myself, Scrith and Orangepanther against Borgboy,
Matty and Fangr replacing Al Kharn. Matty crushed OrangePanther
with a HUGE tool force and my tool attack on Matty had
little effect other than to delay my bronze enough to
take me out of the game. Scrith and I hit Borgboy pretty
hard but Fangr managed to sneak into Scrith's walls and
effectively take him out of the game. Needless to say we
where crushed. Without water and a little room to breath,
we are very weak and Fangr is WAY better than Al Kharn.

Game 3 should have been a much closer battle but the lag
was high and Matty resigned without even asking for a restart.
Scrith was in trouble with his wife and didn't have time
for another and he himself had been dropped from the first
game so he was against a restart. Fangr had a barbeque he
was already late for and did not vote for a restart. I would
have voted either way myself and orangepanther also did not
want a restart. Borgboy was upset at not getting a restart
but I did not think it was really fair that Fangr be allowed
to replace Al Kharn permanently since his team was already
eliminated.
The rules clearly state that a consesus is needed for
a restart and that we certainly did not have. Add to that
the fact that we lost a team member in game 1 and I think
we where justified in not granting a rematch. I am not
happy with the conditions surrounding the win but I dont
see a fair solution and I am not even sure if the tourney
is still alive so it probably doesn't matter.
Please add us to the next bracket and we are ready to
play the next round if there is one.

1. Your team members dropping did NOT affect the turn out of the game. You would only have slaughtered us even more.
2. I sent Matty the rules before he played but I doubht he remembered anything about the dropping rules.
3. When Matty was force to leave (due to him lagging), It definetly DID affect the outcome of the match and I did not feel like being slaughtered in under 10 minutes right then (it has been happening to me on the zone alot lately ) so I resigned only to see Fangr up against 2 tool opponets while he was trying to rush them with stone age clubbers
4. I had a i am not sure tool time just before i resigned, And one of your team mates (prob u) beat me to tool by about 1-2 minutes, and your other team mate was tooled about 15-30 seconds before me. I would have been tool rushed (for the 3rd game in a row) and probably killed unless matty or fangr saved me. (but matty couldnt cause he resigned and by then fangr would be busy himself.)
5. Just because Orange Panther is afraid to lose (i am not afraid to lose, i just dont like it. but who would?) doesn't mean that you should advance to the next round. That single match would have been worth writing stories for weeks on the forums! Even if you lost it would be worth it because of the glorious battle to the death. I am sure you would have put up a hell of a fight if you lost. The odds are about 50/50. Even if we lost I would LOVE to post about it so everyone could mock the way i was taken out by a 5 second tool rush

First of all i wasnt afraid to lose, since thats our teams favorite kind of map , with water, second of all i invited matty to play with us for fun , right after last tournament game, and he HAD TO GO, WHICH MEANS HE WOULD BE ABLE TO FINISH THE GAME WITH US,if we would restart, anyway, so he would leave in the begining of our next game anyway, now you can see my point, i hope. In thr first game , we were close to losing, when we were pressed by fanr, dont say that you had no chance, its not true.

Borgboy,
Your argument does not make sense. First, the rules are
the rules and we played by them. Second, the fact that
Scrith's dropping didn't affect the outcome is a NON point.
We lost a major player and did not ask for, get offered,
or get a restart. Our players showed up for the matches
on time and attempted to play a fair set of matches. It
was not our falut that Matty was to busy to make the first
match. I think you where incredibly fortunate to have
fangr play for you and he carried your team the first
game and I think made the difference the second game
by sneaking in on Scrith.
My team showed up for the third game, and Scrith even
got in a bit of trouble with his wife to do so, so he
could not stick around for a rematch (which is our
option to honor) and two of your teammates also had
other plans. If my team had wanted to rematch I would
have voted with them but they did not so I let it go.
If you want to get Scarab's ruling on this I am glad
to abide by it. I dont think he will allow fangr to
join your team as his team has already been eliminated.
I dont think Matty should have resigned without at least
pausing to discuss options first. He probably had other
things to do and doesn't seem real interested in the
tourney anyway. I personally would have played with the
lag or tried to negotiate a restart rather than resign.
Are there any impartial opinions out there on this
issue?

Thanks,
PendragonWRB

It appears to me that Dragon's Breath has won the match here. I believe the rules were followed, and the majority of the remaining players didn't vote for a restart, which would have been required.

Scarab, I am marking Dragon's Breath as continuing to the next round by a 2-1 victory. If you wish to overrule this, please let me know.

I don't really care if we go to the next round or if they do. Because there isn't really much to go on to. And 2nd, The tourny is almost dead and there isn't really many "bragging rights" to go with it so it doesn't really matter, 3rd the tourny is and was for fun. 4th They can go on to the next round, I don't care. I just do not want that 3rd game to be marked as a win for them because we didn't even really play. You say, "yeah sure, you resigned so forfit" yes forfit not a "win" so please mark it as a forfit if you must send them to the next round.

May I ask which aloha's each of the wildlife are?
