It was actually a 3 vs 3, but eug and hemmie's ally was slain very quickly by hordes of compy bowmen, and our ally did nothing either, so it was essentally a 2 vs 2.

I was green, minoan, Kurtie brown, Persian - a foolish choice -

hemlock was blue, shang, and eug was yellow, yamato.

Since the map was hill country, it took me forever to tool. but it always does anyway, so....

I found three berry patches here and there, and a group of four elles near red, the ally the was quickly eliminated.
I was so spread out there was ONE vill doing wood in my town.

After I bronzed I began to spread out more, since i already was, and did all the farm upgrades and began setting up tc's all over. I hit red with compies while he was stillin tool and he was out. Then eug hit kurtie with a cavalry horde. I sent some compies up to help..but...compies are slow, and the first wave mostly died. I had also sent up a builder, and he build enough buildings to crank out troops to stabilize the situaiton. About this time i took an army and marche dinto eug's farming areas and wood plot, apparently driving most of them away. More cav came down and more compies died. Kurtie was trying to recover from eug's attack, and building a secondar base at nine, and I decided to find blue, since eug was dispersed all over I found him alright, and we fought a little ca - compie war before his cats arrived to spoil the party. I was stillin bronze, and I began to be VERy afraid when his cats began blowing away my men. I cranked out vills out of six tc's, set them on gold, and thre up sw's and st's all over the place. Wheni got to iron I invested in cats, only to discover that hemlock had switched to scythes. they wiped out many compies and cats, wiping out forwrad bases into the process, until i got the heles. eug now began sending rains of ha's all over the map. Very annoying I kept losing men and the fight was going nowhere fast. I encroached a little on hemlocks southern flank, before my cats died, and I wiped out a forward base of eug's in teh center. My forward bases were dying left and right. AFtr i got the hele I begged for resources form my allies to build a few. I now had to spend many minutes on economy, until I had enough wood and gold to crank out seige. They met the scythe/ha attacks and deftead them, and began to head deeper into his base. Hemlock now unleashed a torrent of ha on to kurtie, who had just gotten an army. Being persian, he chose armored ellies, and they chased down teh ha's. They then pivoted and plunghed into hemlocks northern flank. I hit it from teh center and south and they began to crumble. eug was using slingers on my compies wtih devastating effect until my cats arrived. then two of his cats killed four of mine, and I was left with one cat and one compie. Three vills ran up, and attacked the cat and i was left with one compie. Taht ended somewaht the middle attack. I brought up more men and hit from the sides, being very glad that kurtie's eles were there to help me. We finally won, after a LONG hard battle.

PS - during the game, when I was very low on res, I asked kurtie for gold and wood, and he very nicely gave it to me. The only problem was that he gave it to eug instead. eug wasnice enough to pass it on, so it all worked out.

It was a fun game.

I thought I started out pretty decently, but...lol. I guess, not good enough. I was on the brink of starvation the entire game. Our ally whoever he was was pretty pathetic as far as letting us know anything. I did not even know that he had been attacked. I thought he had dc'd or something. If I had known there was a HUGE green compie force strolling towards me I probably would not have sent little fighting horsies everywhere . This was one game where I was not paying attention when we launched the game...(hmm, note to my self, learn to type so that I am not constantly looking at the keys... ) and I did not really mean to get Yamato. I have only played with them a few times but i was pleased for the first half of the game....

General, you really spread out fast! I thought I made a decnt bronze time so I was going out to harass someone and asked who to get. Hemlock said that Kurtie was at 12 and he looked vulnerable so I set out thinking that he would not expect an attack from the middle. I guess I hit him ok, but instead of pushing on and going after the vills I left the cav to demolish the town that I hit. BIG mistake . I had just sent my second wave up towards where Kurtie was with the intentions of hunting him down this time when the HORDE of little guys shooting arrows arrived!

(BTW: "vulnerable" Kurtie was the first to bronze...something I forgto to check until I was in his base )

When General hit my woodies he pretty much decimated all of my vills except for just a few on gold in the middle. About the time that I started getting more produced he hit that tc. After that I started building ha's ONE at a time and sending them on hit and runs hoping to do something somewhere and maybe catch someone from behind...but it never really happened that way that I planned.

It was a fun game and I learned a few lessons from it:

1. QUIT, QUIT, QUIT attacking someone early unless I can finish it. If I rush someone I succeed enough to win in about 2 out of 10 times. If I stay defensive I usually have MUCH better record. hmmm, something about testosterone levels and fighting fast....
2. Quit pretending I am playing the computer and build MORE!! For awhile in games back I was doing ok and would get to pop limit and never worry about resources. The last week or so I maybe get halfway to pop limit. Gotta change that quick!

Well, my parents are here with the food! So , I will catch you all tonight and I PROMISE to put in a better showing!

Want to play with you guys again tonight if we can.

What I learned in that game was that I really suck with Shang. In the game before that one, Kurtie did a pretty nasty tool rush on me so when I saw Kurtie's scouting villie in this game, I pretty much went into defensive mode. I was also reminded (again) that my multitasking skills are not adequate for this game. I admit it, I'll never get any better than mid-level rookie.

Who got killed in Tool?

I was out of everything except food and stone so I thought I would have some fun and give some Iron Age slingers a shot.
