Topic Subject: May I get some help?

Hi everyone

When I am in the Zone and someone launches a game, if my connection is not optimal, sometimes I donīt get in. But the problem is that in this case the screen "setting up multiplayer game" completely freezes EVERY TIME and that I have to reboot my computer and connect to Internet again.
Although this is not a major problem itīs quite annoying because I have to run Scandisk every time.
Is there any way of avoiding it ? "Esc" does not help me, nor "alt-ctrl-del" or opening and closing the CD.

Please tell me if there is any easy solution. I have a PII 233 128RAM.

I think that a way to bypass scandisk is to start running it, then push E or was it X ? Im not sure but at the bottom of the screen it will hav the words

or something like that. One letter in each word will be underlined. Push the letter that is underlined in exit on your keyboard

See ya on the flipside...

He wasn't talking about skipping scandisk, he was asking about the pausing of the multiplayer screen, and I don'y know either how to exit that. Oh, and it's X to exit scandisk.

From my experience, and from discussion on the GX board some time ago, I believe you have found the easiest solution -- reboot and cross your fingers...

I run windows nt, and I can tell you that CTRL-ALT-DEL does work on an NT system when the game freezes at the loading multiplayer, no reboot necessary, this is because NT runs every program in its own protected memory space, and CTRL-ALT-DEL just works better generally while running windows NT

Hitting the spacebar or enter key also gets you out of scandisk.

Taion crashes way too often.

One more word on scandisk:

Under Win98 you should run msconfig.exe. In the menu, you can deactivate scandisk in the Autostart bar. This is useful, because you dont need scandisk normally - with or without crashes under RoR

There's also the program somewhere TweakUI or something..
this also let's u set the options....

I myself have put it on 'scan automatically'
otherwise, if u reboot your comp, u need to 'enter' for scandisk to start, which is annoying if u come back to your computer, and windows ain't back yet...... another wait....

Btw, could you please fill in a clear subject in the 'Topic' next time......

It will get you much faster/better help then...
