Just wondering which ISPs are beeing used out there. I used to have MSN.. sucky sckuy, so i dropped them. Then I got at&t, sucky sucky on the zone as well.
Recently I signed on with IBM and man they were awsome. Until recently, IBM Internet connection was bought by AT&T.
What ISP's seem to get good connections on the zone?

There are some who do not have access to cable or T1 lines.
For us peons who have to deal with 56k for the time beeing, it would be nice hear of some experiences with good ISPs.
Just wondering, if you do have cable or T1 access to the zone, are'nt the games as fast as the slowest connection. If that is the case, do you ever really experience the high band width speed on the zone???

I currently use Bell Atlantic (They are pretty good ) But when I move accross town I am switching to a local Cable company (they do all kinds of communications stuff). They are real good, But I probably shouldn't give out their name cause...Ya know, Local

56K modem?!?!
Heck! My ISP is so good, I don't even have a modem. All I've got is two empty soup cans and a piece of string between 'em! (hehe)
Actually, my ISP (ExecPC) has kept me happy about 70% of the time. There have been days were I get disconnected constantly.

heh, I'm still running at 36000 because we have to pay more to use the 56K lines
T3 connection at your school, heh my school probably has a single 56K modem for the entire network =P ('course the school comps still have windows 3.1 )

I am on a local ISP here, and was very disappointed. I moved, got a different access number, and things have been going well.
Question for you techies out there: I have an X2 modem, my wife has the KFlex. Other than that, our machines are identical. If we are both connected, and we ping a neutral site, I almost always win. However, if we ping the Zone, my ping is horrible, sometimes the Zone is not even found. My connection to the ISP and to the rest of the world seem fine, but almost everyone in the Zone shows up red. [This wasn't the case prior to my last Zone update. I used to get mostly greens. I have installed a couple of new games and utilities as well, including SMAC, Tribes, Final Fantasy 7, Thief and EditPad.] Any theories or suggestions?

If you live in Canada, then I would recommend Interpacific Online. They have an 8:1 ratio, and I end up with pretty good ping. Only problem is, their Chinese, so if you're Chinese, or you don't seeing all that Chinese (the people there can speak English, albeit pretty badly), then this is the ISP for you. (They also offer free cd's every few months with free shareware and full version software, such as photoshop, icq, pagemaker, to name a few. Full version too).
