Tip's for a Yamoto bronze (into a rush?) on a water map (medit, cont, narrows, coastal(islands are different)).
these tips and build orders are a combination of about ten different strat guides, me thinks.
Vils 1 and 2 build a house
Vil 2 looks for food source after house is 50% complete
Vil 3 finds a food source (berries or 3+ sf)
Vil 4 look for food source
vil 5 look for food source
*when suitable food source is found*
vil's 2 and 3 build apropriate building (Storage pit or Granary)
vils 1,2,3,4,5 gather food
*group vils 1-5 with ctrl+9*
Vil 6 build a house
*group using ctrl+1* ((straight out of CD's 'Crappy Bronze'))
as soon as the house is completed, send vil 6 scouting for the enemy (follow shore lines!)
Vil 7 chops wood (nearest tree!!!)
Vil 8 gathers wood
vil 9 gathers wood
vil 10 builds a house
*group using crtl+2*
important: this vil will build your 1st dock
When done the house, scout near water for suitable docking position
**pay attention to your first scout**
vil 11 gathers wood*When 120 wood is collected*
build a storage pit near a forest and a gold mine!!Once your first storage pit is up transfer your wood collectors to it instantly. Yam vils are fast, but there's no need to make them walk farther than they need to.
*After storage pit is built and 100 wood is collected*
Vil 10 builds dock #1
upon completion of your first dock, send him scouting for they enemy's base (unless scout #1 has located it) If your first scout has found his base, send scout #2 to scout #1's location to forward build
vil's 12-18 gather wood
*crank out fishing boats as soon as your dock can!*
*build a house as soon as your population is three below the limit!*
vil 19 builds dock #2
*group ctrl+2*
*re-group vil's 6 and 10 with ctrl+1*
upon completion of dock #2, take a zig-zag path back to your wood/gold pit.
vils 20-22 gather wood
*stop at 22 real villagers (you should have 13-16 fishing boats)***NOTE: move vils 1-5 to wood as soon as initial food source is depleted**
Tool as soon as you reach 500 food!Select group #2 (vil 19) to build a barracks (B+B) while you are tooling; then back to wood.
Once in the Tool age
*take group 9 (vils 1-5) build a market near to their position, but not blocking the path to the pit*
*group 1 builds a stable #1 near enemy's wood pit*
**build a scout ship or two to protect your fb's**
once market is completed, have group 9 (vils 1-5) mine gold
*get gold mining upgrade*
***get cav armor in storage pit***
*get wall upgrade* (obviously, you'll need to build a granary if you started with shore fish)
*group 1 (vils 6 and 10) build stable #2*
*group 2 (vil 19) scouts near TC for supplemental food source (ele's)* (if located take six vils and begin to gather food)Bronze when you have 800 food (possibly building more fb's to boost incoming food)*Build a scout while bronzing*
*get attack upgrade in storage pit*
Attempt to 'sneakily' wall off any escape routes enemy might have
Once bronze
queue up 2 cav's in each stable
build more as the supplies come in
upgrade to the next armor
Attack with scout and cav's, win game.
keep your economy going at your base!! You are allowed to build more villagers, even though you are concentrating on building a quick army. Remember to spread out as well! And wall off choke points!
I'm not certain how effective this will be, but I won the game that went through in my head while typing this up! =D
