Whenever I go into the scenario builder to make some nice maps or stuff, I always see the Mercenary unit in my unit list. I put them on the map and they act like normal heavy cavalry. What's the deal with them? They don't do anything special like turn on you or something. the only thing I noticed was that they attack instead of turn Gaia units on your side.

You have to have another unit of yours selected along with the mercenaries, otherwise they won't attack. I also think that if you leave them without anyone else near them, they can be caputred by your enemies.

Also, they cant see by themselves, you have to have one of your units with them to be their 'eyes'.

Mercenaries can have infantry arrow armor upgrades because it is an infantry, not a cavalry.
