Pusuant to Scarab's suggestion, please post any ideas you have for an APC Code of Conduct, either in terms of subject areas to address or specific rules, here.
I will publish a consolidated draft for everyone's comment Sunday evening. Thanx in advance for your input.

1.) Any use of bugs and/or trainers will be prosecuted in the APC court and if convicted will be sentenced to a 5v1(Bug user 1) where he will be tormented with a slow, and painful loss in the RATED ROOM.Or kicked out of the clan.
hehe, j/k, but No bugs or trainers in AoE,RoR,AoK,AoN(Age of Napolean),AoSZ(Age of Space Zombies), or any ES game.

2) No "bad-mouthing" other APCer's, .... unless they have it coming (jk)
2.1) no using one hundred taunts per ten minute in one game.

There should be only 2.
1. Have fun. 2. Be a good sport.
Let's keep it simple. I'm not applying for a mortgage, just putting my name on a list that says that I'm not really good at the game, but I will be fun to play with/against.
Keep your stick on the ice.

I was rereading a couple threads and stumbled upon this:
Scarab writes: I would have posted this yesterday, but I actually was busy at work
For those who do not know, the APC (Average Players Clan) is not a serious Clan, but a loose group of forummers who want to play games with people that they have come to know here. You can be a player of ANY skill level, Newbie all the way up to expert. The only rule I guess would be to be gracious in victory and humble in defeat. Basicly, be a good sport and have fun!
(Emphasis added by Thorfinn)
I can't believe that I had it verbatim, but the order reversed. Of course, I believe that having fun should be foremost. After all, it is a game...
Keep your stick on the ice.

Well, I think that Thorfinn hit the nail on the head!!
You're correct, the "fun" part must be a first!

First of all, Thorfinn are you a hockey fan? Go Blackhawks!
I agree with our 2 rules and with being simple with them. Based upon people's posts maybe a 3rd is being implied: Be Honest
This is why we don't want people using bugs or smurfing, because we want to have fun equal playing field games. These are the type of games we enjoy and can be proud of. So one day I can tell my children playing "Age of Presidents" 20 v 20 about my days playing for 5 hours with good friends and the battles coming down to villies killing each other because all the resources were gone and used up.
BTW, I have always wanted to know what trainers are.
there can be only one king...and he gave up his only son for me

I'm with you guys. Here's the draft I almost posted to kick off this thread; now I wish I'd done it --
APC Code of Conduct (Draft, 1999/04/16) 1. Have Fun 2. Play Fair 3. Teach and Learn 4. Ignore Jerks

I'm not in the APC, mainly 'cause I don't get to sign on to the zone very much 'cause I'm in college, but when I do I try and find some forummers to play with. Here's a comment from a non-APC'er. It seems the main attraction of the Average Players Clan was the informality of it. Just go and play games together and have fun. Now, I feel that adding a structure to it will greatly cause it to lose it's luster. Just a thought from a non-member but someone who will try actively try to find games with APC'ers. Sort of a junior member of sorts.

Rules:
1.)Have Fun 2.)Play Nice 3.)Be Honest
We can't have much fun when someone is using bugs to whoop us.Not everyone is nice.Personally, I would be all for CD cracks and Warezing, if people would buy the game and wouldnt go around send it to others. You have to have a few rules to be able to have fun. But Thorfin is right, keep it simple, not like the tax laws.

Scarab and Thorfinn have it right. Nothing else is needed. Those two "rules" imply many other things. (ie. No speed jacking, no taunt flooding, no name calling, etc.)
The only thing I would modify is instead of just "Have Fun," I propose "Help everyone have fun." That brings in being considerate and teaching newbies.
I like the idea of a web page as a place to keep an updated list of people who agree to abide by these principles. I prefer posting game stories right here. (Unless you have a lot a screen shots.) This is where we all met, I don't see any reason why we should move to another place.
Donovan is right though, it feels like it is in danger of becoming too structured. Informality and open "membership" are two of the key things that appeal to me. [BTW Donovan, your 51 posts pretty much makes you a member whether you like it or not. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.]

BlackHawks?????
You've got to be kidding me. Just the thought of them skating on the ice makes me laugh! (hockey fans: a moment of silence for The Great One)
Having fun and being a good sport can be expanded upon. I wasn't hoping to get a concrete list here (rule #126.3 you must play with one sock on if you intend to boom with less than 43 v/b at bronze....)
I think OldGrex will post a decent list that is close to what has been stated in the previous responses.

Ok, everyone else has taken a stab at it. My turn: The APC Clan Creed:
To make the Internet Gaming Zone a more enjoyable place to play.
To have the reputation as good sports, in order that everyone will seek us out for their games, as well as joining our own games.
To help lamers understand the errors of their ways, both by our good example and friendly correction, in order that their numbers may decrease.
Hemlock said it. You're already in APC whether you know it or not. Just get your name up on the APC members thread so that we can all add your name to our ZF list.

From the ones that are on here already are really quite good. Just one suggestion, don't make too many rules, overregulation has a way of taking the fun out of things. My 2 cents

OK, I made some.
"Thou shalt not villager rush." "Thou shalt not jack the speed to 2.0." "Thou shalt type no chat more than 3 times." "Thou shalt not type chat # 14" "Thou shalt not tool rush." "Thou shalt not take Shang." "Thou shalt not kill me in stone age when I am greek."
J/k............
I think about the only rules are what Kurtie has down...
