The Relay

By Steve Ryan

I get stuck at the start - what can I let Mor Havoc do?
I get stuck with my first Villager.
I get stuck with the Villager near that HCat.
I get stuck at the Priest near the two Axemen and Medusa (what is a Medusa, anyway?).
Any hints for taking the red fort?
How can I get rid of that horde of elephants and lions in the south?
Aarrgghh! I lose all my units against the Greek Rebels!
I don't see how I can set Mor Havoc free from his hiding place.
I get stuck at the river.
I get stuck against the Priests who converted Alexander.
I get stuck against the second town of Amon's Henchmen.
I lost my Cat there - any hope of advancing?
Wow, I made it to Alexadria and built a Wonder - why don't I win?

The Relay

Nothing - that is to say - get him in safety. Find the Villager in the bottom left hand corner.

The Relay

How do I get him past the trees?

The Relay

You can let him chop wood. When he got his arms full, assign him another task. He'll drop his wood then and you let him continue. Hunting the Elephant is a possibility though I can't particularly recommend it. Picking the berries near Mor Havoc seems safer. (He can't get there of course but that doesn't matter.)

The Relay

I don't mind chopping away one tree but this is ridiculous.
Anything else I can do here?

The Relay

You can use the HCat for that - let it attack ground in the forest and the trees will disappear. Would be an efficient woodcutter only the wood isn't added to your stockpile. Come to think of it - Juggernaughts are fairly good at it too.

The Relay

While you're clearing a path you might let the Villager build a Tower - you never know.

A Medusa is a unit looking like a Villager. When he dies, he changes into a Horse Archer and when he dies again he changes into a Catapult. (That might give you an idea.)

That Medusa attacks my Priest straight away and then it seems to be over.

The Relay

If he's already standing near the Priest the game is over anyway (he has to remain with the Axemen or you can't proceed). If he's still near the Axemen, try blocking him at the cliff with your Villager and convert him at once. Let him fight the Axemen.

Save your game before going there.

The Relay

I take it that you thought of building a Dock and building War Galleys there and took care of the Towers and Triremes there. Land with a Villager and take a look around. He'll get stuck at a line of trees. You'll need a Priest or another unit with a good range to advance further there - find one; perhaps you have to look in a very different direction. Of course you can also chop away one tree.

No matter from what direction you approach it, you're supposed to do so carefully. Remember it's all Ballista Towers there. Try to find some Heavy Catapults before you do anything about them.

Is there any point in converting the Elephants there or can I kill them?
I found some HCats and they're very effective - that is at killing my own units.

The Relay

They are so trigger happy. Well - keep your units well away from targets that the HCats may fire at and if that doesn't work well, consider changing your diplomatic stance toward the Greek Rebels to neutral for the time being.

Converting them can do no harm and it's rather funny to do (at least IMHO). Don't waste your Priests in the process though. You never know if they come in handy later on.

They have HCats too - so keep your units well apart to prevent unnecessary damage and losses. You'll have found by now that you get enough supplies to build ten Wonders - spend some on building those famous Hittite HCats and have it out with the Greeks. When their attacks lessen you can think of landing on their side of the river and destroy their buildings. Remember that War Elephants are worthless against Cents.

The Relay

It's clear that you can't get there from the West - try to find somebody in the East. Once you cleared out the Greeks you can take a look around.

The Relay

Try to find a Transport ship then - and make sure your Catapults don't sink it before you realise that you need it.

The Relay

Better not try to get at them with your Catapult. You'll need it later. Explore the place before you move South - you may find something useful.

The Relay

Same as with the first - can't you find a place where you can train some Chariot Archers?

The Relay

Forget it. Next time you save the game before you do something dangerous if you have only the one Heavy Catapult, right?

The Relay

You still have to burn those CDs, remember. And perhaps you didn't bring Alexander and Mor Havoc to the town after all? Try taking them to the block of Temples and Government Centres.

The Relay

You can let your woodcutters work their way to the river and build a Dock. Then you can bring over your HCats, Priests and Eles (rather slow but it works. As you can use the HCats for something else too it isn't so very bad.) You'll find a Centurion on a small island - you can use him too.
